Creuse

Almost the longest day already. Not that long ago we were in the icy grip of winter. People say time flies, but up here in the mist-shrouded backwoods of central France, time takes its time. No rush. Round these parts it's the rush hour when a tractor trundles past. Often towing hay bales. Or maybe a cattle wagon. Such is life in the Creuse. It's cattle country. Home of the famed Limousin cattle. Wouldn't be surprised if cattle outnumbered people in this region. It's one of the least densely populated regions of France. That's the way I like it. Open countryside, empty roads, fresh air, friendly folk.
